Dearest Jo,

Since Harry Potter hit Spain and Latin America, there have been thousands of readers that have joined Pottermania. First, we feel attracted to the plot of mysteries, adventures, love, fears, fantasy, which book by book gave us more and more pieces to your amazing jigsaw. Later, we discovered the means of communication with other fans, and through the magic of the Internet we could reach out to readers from all corners of the world. Thanks to the possibilities that cyberspace granted us, we have been able to build up friendships between different countries that follow Harry’s adventures with the same passion and devotion, even a year after having read the last words of your last book.

Throughout these years we have followed each new publication of the saga with admiration and we have kept an eye to all public events in which you have been present. We believe in your struggle to erase social injustice, the same as we admire the help that you have given to the people that need it most through your active charity work. Spanish-speaking fans are proud of the fact that Harry Potter has gone beyond the literary world to reach a humanity sphere.

We have enjoyed the seven books of the saga and we follow very closely all the updates and mysteries in your webpage. Harry Potter has given us not only unforgettable moments of pleasurable reading, but also offered us good friendships that make the Spanish-speaking community unique because it has brought together fans from every Spanish speaking country in the world.

After reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, we still have some questions, and among all the thousands of Spanish-speaking fans we have selected ten questions (it has not been an easy task to select only ten questions!) that we have considered the most interesting and recurrent ones. For us, it would be an honour if you could answer them, since we have never had the chance to ask you directly. We thank you in advance. We hope you enjoy answering them as much as we have enjoyed formulating the questions:

  1. Which are the twelve uses of dragon blood exactly?
  2. Who was the next headmaster at Hogwarts and the next DADA teacher after the Battle of Hogwarts?
  3. What are the five exceptions of Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration? Food is one, and the other four?
  4. Did Salazar Slytherin ever come back to Hogwarts after his fight against Godric Gryffindor?
  5. Where do those who cross the Veil go and why only some wizards or witches like Harry and Luna hear their voices?
  6. Who are the married teachers at Hogwarts and/or do they have children?
  7. What is the election system for Minister of Magic and what is his relationship with the muggle Prime Minister? Is the Minister of Magic under the power of the muggle one?
  8. What religion does the little tufty-haired man belong to, the one that celebrates Dumbledore's funeral and Bill & Fleur's wedding?
  9. What are the proper names of Mr and Mrs Granger and where do they live?
  10. What is the relationship of the Bloody Baron with Slytherin? Does it have anything to do with the fact that he can control Peeves?

Thank you very much, although we will never be able to thank you enough. For Harry Potter is part of our lives now and we are very happy about it.

    Best regards,
        A Spanish-speaking Fan.
